Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Field Service Engineer (FSE) to join our dynamic team, reporting to the General Manager and Service Manager India. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring our cutting-edge machines deliver exceptional performance for our customers. You’ll be responsible for installation, maintenance, and optimisation, ensuring every customer gets the most out of our solutions. As an FSE, you’ll be proactive, resourceful, and customer-focused—representing TOMRA’s global brand of excellence wherever you go.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field service work (commissioning, operation, testing, integration, optimisation, maintenance and repair) in India of new and existing equipment. 
  • Deliver exceptional technical and performance support, including remote assistance, to customers using our sorting machines.
  • Gather and share customer feedback to help improve TOMRA’s products and services.
  • Provide onsite training for customer maintenance and service personnel, as well as training sessions for fellow field service engineers, to enhance technical capabilities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by optimising the performance of TOMRA Food systems and managing field service operations efficiently in terms of cost and time.
  • Collaborate closely with the local service team in India and international technical support teams, particularly in the APAC region.
  • Proactively plan and prepare for onsite visits, ensuring all necessary logistics and parts are in place.
  • Stay current with continuous training on TOMRA Food platforms and systems.
  • Ensure timely reporting on service interventions, activities, and associated costs to support organisational efficiency.
  • Work closely with Sales and Project Management teams to support customer needs.
  • Occasionally provide support in other geographical regions and demonstrate a willingness to travel up to 180 days per calendar year.

Additional Details:

Customer Service:

  • Promptly address or escalate customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Work proactively with customers and internal teams to complete projects like refurbishments, upgrades, and site testing.
  • Provide regular reports on customer activity and offer feedback to improve TOMRA Food products and services.
  • Deliver customer training sessions as required.

Safety, Quality & Compliance:

  • Promote a safety-first culture within TOMRA Food, among customers, and across the industry.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, and compliance standards in all operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance team performance and customer experience.

Organisation:

  • Accurately document work, timekeeping, and expense records.
  • Comply with company policies, quality management systems, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Foster effective communication, provide constructive feedback, and actively support the organisation’s vision and values.

Qualifications

About You:

  • Bachelor’s/Diploma in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical analysis skills.
  • Ability to connect with customers and address their concerns across diverse cultures.
  • Passionate about engineering with excellent computer skills.
  • Hands-on experience in maintenance, service, or support roles in industrial settings is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and fault-finding techniques.
  • Technician or engineering-level qualification required.
  • Interest and knowledge in electro-mechanical equipment is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 180 days per year).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 25kg).
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and varied environments, including food processing plants, farms, and cold storage facilities.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel as needed.
  • No major food allergies affecting the ability to work near nuts, fruits, and vegetables.
