Product Designer I - Cloud Platform, IAM

What You’ll Do
As a Product Designer on the Identity and Access Management (IAM) team, you will bring a systems approach when creating solutions and designs for scale that all the HashiCorp product teams can leverage to accelerate their journey to the cloud. You will focus on key features and functionality that enable our users to create and manage their accounts, assign roles, and manage user access at scale.
You’ll use your passion for design to act proactively, navigate uncertainty and ambiguity, thrive by solving problems, confidently lead projects, and drive collaboration with cross-functional partners while holding a high bar for quality in design and user experience.
You'll collaborate tightly with a distributed team of peers to help shape the next version of HashiCorp’s Platform, including running and participating in workshop sessions and driving conversations to help different teams with HCP adoption while following the HashiCorp Principles.
You'll combine research and creativity to give our technical users practical and elegant solutions to complex challenges. Creating multiple concept explorations, sharing with the team, and incorporatIng feedback into your designs.
You’ll deliver user-centered design (including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, accessibility standards, and a strong design aesthetic) informed by user and market research.
Your Roadmap to Success
Your First 30-Days
Learn the ins and outs of HashiCorp Design, become familiar with HashiCorp Platform, and start partnering with your engineering and product teams.
This may include:
New hire onboarding
Become familiar with HashiCorp’s design tools and processes
Reviewing existing designs and patterns
Becoming familiar with our design system
Walk through the HashiCorp Platform tutorials, deploying sample infrastructure
Seek feedback from peers and managers and use it to become more effective and grow interpersonally
Adapt positively to change and be proactive in taking on new challenges
First 90-Days
Review existing research, metrics, and understand our user personas
Meet with your engineering and product peers at a regular cadence
Review design work with peers and stakeholders
Begin working on crafting experiences for features on the roadmap
Conducting research studies to learn more about HashiCorp’s users
Creating prototypes and testing them in front of users
First 180-Days
Facilitate workshops to help define and refine solutions to open problem spaces
Schedule and facilitate design reviews to collect feedback from and inform stakeholders and leadership
Test and validate designs with users and subject matter experts to refine workflows
Build strong cross-functional relationships; act as a strategic thought partner, offer support and engagement, and inspire trust through consistent, successful delivery of projects
Identify opportunities to improve and grow, take part in our mentorship program within the organization
Individual pay within the range will be determined based on job related-factors such as skills, experience, and education or training.
The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:
$128,200—$150,800 USD
The base pay range for this role in Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, New York (excluding NYC), Washington D.C., or California (excluding SF Bay Area) is:
$117,600—$138,300 USD
The base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro) and Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:
$106,800—$125,700 USD
