Lead Software Development Engineer in Test - Consumer Products

The Consumer Product Group engineers strive to make the Coinbase retail app the easiest-to-use and fastest experience for accessing the crypto.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) Lead to join our quality assurance team at Coinbase. You will have the unique opportunity to build the quality assurance team from the ground up. This role is pivotal in establishing a robust testing framework and culture within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of SDETs, driving test automation strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management

Lead and mentor a team of SDETs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align testing efforts with overall project goals
Conduct performance evaluations and provide career development guidance to team members
Test Strategy and Architecture

Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and frameworks
Design scalable and maintainable test automation architectures
Evaluate and introduce new testing tools and methodologies to improve efficiency
Quality Assurance

Oversee the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Ensure thorough coverage across functional, integration, performance, and security testing
Implement best practices for defect tracking, reporting, and resolution
Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline the testing process within the development lifecycle
Reporting and Communication

Provide regular status updates to stakeholders on testing progress and quality metrics
Present test results and quality insights to management and development teams

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).

$211,650—$249,000 USD
