We create Fast Data Planes in an SDN system integrating dynamic Network Application products. We protect customers against growing threats of cyber-attacks and cyber terrorism. Develop new insights for our products You will work on the evolution of our security platform, focusing on network control planes. Our team is highly technical with commitment to world-class software and experience developing routing protocols. Dynamic opportunities range from front-end UI development, back-end data access, complex algorithmic detection systems, and packet-level applications As a Software Engineer Senior II, you will be responsible for: - Leading technical and product innovation by evaluating new technologies, and proposing solutions for production - Engaging with business, product, and engineering teams to bring projects to completion on time and within budget - Designing, developing, maintaining and supporting Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) frameworks, tools, services and libraries leveraging Akamai's internal infrastructures - Participating in architectural design discussions and planning sessions - Adapting to changing product requirements and manage deadlines Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: - Have 7 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, or its equivalent - Have experience developing, deploying and supporting applications on the Linux operating system - Have required experience in developing applications in Golang/ Python; Experience in Java/Ruby is good to have - Have solid understanding of IP networking: IP fundamentals, TCP, UDP,HTTP, DNS, TLS, Routers - Have solid understanding of OS principles: virtual memory, process scheduling, device drivers, Linux OS kernel basics. - Have minimum knowledge of System Administration (sysadmin): Bash scripting, Linux configuration.
